National Star Wars Day

Hey all!  Sorry this is a day late in posting... 8th grade and I were on a field trip yesterday.  It's achievement testing this week! It is only 7th, 8th, & 11th that will be testing on Tuesday & Wednesday. It will also only be for the first 3 periods of the day, so we will resume normal schedule at 4th period.  NLCA's "Rock the Test" Week Tuesday: Put on Your Thinking Cap! *Wear your favorite hat. Wednesday: Double Check Your Answers *Dress like a "double" and be twins with someone. Thursday: Knock Our Sock Off! *Wear your favorite sandals. NLCA TALENT SHOW Thursday afternoon, in celebration that achievement testing is finally over for everyone, we will be having a talent show in the new gym. Students are encouraged to participate. There will be awards for the various age groups (Pre-K-2nd grade, 3rd-6th, 7th-12th). Students may share their talents on stage or their artwork in the foyer where we will set up a gallery.  There are forms in

National High Five Day

Hello everyone! We made it to break! I truly hope you all have a fantastic 10 days off! Whether you'll be traveling, hanging out at home, playing Fortnite, etc... may it be great for you!  ANNOUNCEMENT: We will be having a Talent Show on May 9th. It will be in the afternoon after the secondary lunch when all the achievement testing will finally be over. There will be more details to come once we arrive back to school but you may want to be thinking about what you could do to participate. There will be prizes for the different age categories. (Pre-K - 2nd)(3rd-6th)(7th-12th) Some examples of categories are:  Performing: Singing, dancing, drama/skit, recitation  Non-performing: Art, poetry  You can also think outside the box... maybe gymnastics or a cool talent like yodeling or solving a Rubik's cube quickly.  You all have the capability to do amazing things! National Grilled Cheese Day

Hey all! Another weekend is here! Only 4 more school days till spring break! Hooray! Science 9/10: Please be sure to finish any makeup work this weekend! Any unfinished assignments or makeup quizzes will be counted as a zero if not turned in by Thursday. Pre-Algebra: No homework. We'll continue with area and perimeter formulas on Monday. And maybe Mr. G will be willing to teach again. 😎 WV History: Please be sure to work on your essay for the contest. I will bring my flash drive on Monday to save and transfer your paper so we can submit officially submit it on Wednesday. Algebra 1: No HW but take a look at lesson 9.3. Getting familiar with it will help. National Read a Road Map Day

Hey everyone! It is such an appropriate national day seeing as I will be heading out on a road trip today. I am really looking forward to seeing a friend in NC. It's been years. I don't plan on reading a road map though. Hahah! That's what we have phones with GPS's for. 😀 Nine more days till spring break! National Lemon Chiffon Cake Day

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well! We are in the final stretch of the school year! Only a little bit more until spring break and then shortly after that, we will be done with school. World Shoe Day

What a week! Glad the weekend is here!  Science 9/10: HW= pg. 269 Questions 1-4 Homework is due on Monday. It is the last grading period so any other unfinished work needs to be turned in. Also, we will do Quiz 27 in class, so take some time to go over it on Quizlet.  Pre-Algebra: No homework this weekend. We will continue with the business and income unit on Monday and Wednesday morning. WV History: HW= You have the Source Document 16 (pg. 145-146) about the 9/11 attack. You need to read it and then answer the questions. That is due MONDAY! 😀 Algebra: Any outstanding quizzes are due MONDAY. You guys were given two take home quizzes this last week (18 & 19). Hey everyone! It is Dr. Seuss' birthday this weekend!  So this following week we will have the following dress up days if you want to participate. 😀 Monday: Mixed-Up Monday (Wear mixed up clothing: shirts backwards, inside out, etc) Tuesday: Top Hat Tuesday - Wear your favorite hat! Hey  February is nearly done! It's been a long short month. For some reason it always tends to be like that. I can't wait for some sunshine. Fat Eddies opened today, Friday the 22nd, so spring and summer are on the horizon! 😁 Science 9/10:   No homework this weekend. 😁 I think that the lab today was pretty fun in figuring out speed. Pre-Algebra: Homework is pg. 210 question #4. You are making a rectangle graph. Please be sure to use a ruler and give specific lengths for showing the size of each portion. Also, be sure to label the graph. A graph tells information, you cannot just draw a box and put numbers in. You have to display information so that someone could ask you a question and you would be able to answer it according to the listed info. WV History: Congrats! Y'all did the Golden Horseshoe! Valentine's week

Hey! Hope you all enjoyed the week this week! It was a little crazy sometimes but I was glad to get back to normal classes that were not interrupted by homecoming stuff, even though homecoming was great. It was good to feel productive!   Science 9/10: HW this weekend is to study for Quiz 23 which we will take on Monday . Pre-Algebra:  HW this weekend is to answer ODD #'d problems on pages 188-189. You should do 1-27 (ODD numbers.) Hopefully some of you heeded my advice and worked on them while in study hall today. WV History:  No HW. Monday, we will be in the lab to work on a couple things but especially to go through quizzes for the Golden Horseshoe which is on TUESDAY ! HoCo Week was Grand!

Hey everyone,  I hope you had a super fun week! I know that game day on Wednesday was a fun option for everyone!  Alumni games are on Saturday starting at 5! Science 9/10: No homework this weekend. Weeks are flying by

Hey everyone! Holiday Monday weeks along with delays always make the week feel a little odd. But here we are at Friday, praise the Lord! 2019!

Hey all! So I realized last Friday after I left school that I had not posted on the blog for the week. My apologies!!! At the end of the day on Friday, my computer's hard drive died. I had most of the blog typed and saved but it died before I published it. A friend was able to fix it and I was able to use a backup to restore most of my data so praise the Lord! Anyways, here's the rundown for this upcoming week.  Science 9/10: HOMEWORK: Read pages. 168-171 starting at Voltaic Cells on pg. 168.  Also define the following terms: Voltaic Cells Dry Cells Storage Cells Fuel Cell We will work through chapter 8 as much as we can this next week. Prepare to work diligently! We'll have about 3 quizzes and hopefully wrap up chapter 8. Pre-Algebra:  No homework.
