CHRISTMAS BREAK HAS ARRIVED!

Hello everyone! I do not have much to say beyond: MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! I hope you all have an amazing time relaxing and having fun with friends and family. There are a few of you who have some assignments due THE DAY we get back. Failure to do so will result in a zero. As of right now, there may be a point deduction because I had said that everything needed to be turned in before break. I love you all and will see you in the New Year! -Miss Thies Miss T "Mommy Thighs"

Almost Christmas

Hey everyone! Isn't it such a great time of year?! I love the coziness, the cheer, the lights, the reason: Jesus. We have 2 days left before we're on break for 15 days! Longest break ever! I hope you all enjoy some great family and friend time! Science 9/10: For those who have yet to turn in your take home quizzes of 14 & 15, please be sure to bring those in on Monday, Tuesday the latest. If you do not return it before break, you will get a point deduction. They were supposed to be in on Thursday but I've extended it, so do not abuse that extension. Also, if you took home Test 4 to finish any questions, that also needs to be turned in by Monday.  Pre-Algebra: You all have been doing pretty great! I'm proud of you! When we come back from break, we'll do some review and then take a test over the section we've been working on. WV History: The Golden Horseshoe test that EVERYONE has to take will be in February. When we get back from break, we will b

Thanksgiving is so close

Hey there! Veteran's Day. As one who has brothers, cousins, a parent, and a grandparent who have served in the military at one point in their life, it is an awesome day to take and be reverent and grateful for those who have dedicated years of service and for some, their very lives, for our freedom.  So while you enjoy your Monday off, remember those and their families who have sacrificed for us all. Science 9/10: This week has been a rough one when it comes to being productive in this class. Homework this week, please read through section 7.2 so we can somewhat keep on track and move on before Thanksgiving break. Pre-Algebra:  I might have assigned homework if we had class today but lucky you! Exponents have been fun and I feel confident in what you all have been doing in class. Keep it up! See you next week and have a great long weekend! WV History:  As some of you highlighted, we didn't get to do our county quiz today. We will do that if we have class on Tuesd

25% Of The Way There

Grade cards came back this week for the first 9 weeks which means we are 25 % done with the school year. Incredible!  You all make my job a lot of fun!  There have been some changes to the schedule so we are going to run with it to see how it rolls. Please be patient and do your best to be where you're supposed to be. The schedule is on the door of the science lab (room 5.) 😀 Science 9/10: This is a new thing for me y'all. I think we will have some fun with it though. I will make the study guide on Quizlet for our next quiz so you can go over that this weekend. You'll be able to find it under my username : s_thies and I'll have a designated class folder. Pre-Algebra: We finally get to jump into algebra this coming week! Hooray! There will be lots to get familiar with so come ready to learn. There will be no homework this weekend because we are at a good stopping point before our next section. Week 8

Hey! I hope you all have had a great 8th week! This is gonna be a quick post. Sorry it's late! Pre-Algebra Monday we'll be testing on chapter 1 & 2. We have gone over review in class today so hopefully y'all were paying attention. Be sure to bring a calculator as I will allow you to use it on the basic math stuff. WV History I was going to have a Quizlet study guide made up for chapter 5 because we will test on it Monday but I think we will just keep it open book so that should help you a bunch. Thursday we will take our next county quiz. For those of you who want to retake the last 5, you are able to redo it but you will have to do the next five as well (ten altogether). Angel made up a quizlet study guide for the 5 county bunches that you may want to use to help you study which county goes with which county seat. But don't forget, you'll still need to know where they are on a map!  Her username is: amichelle_3 Algebra 1 Great week everyone! We will

Howdy! Week 5 is in the books! Secondary students are invited back to the gym tonight for a party! What kind of party? I'm not quite sure how to word it but there will be lots of fun, food, music, etc. It's my last few moments as the youth leader at New Life Assembly and it's been a blast so we'll go out with a boom and have some fun. We'll have a nacho bar (nachos and all the toppings), a breakfast bar (bacon, pancakes, bacon, waffles, bacon, etc), and tea and coffee. There will be a lip sync battle (with prizes), a Dr. Seuss rap battle (with prizes), and just some fun things. Pre-Algebra: Well done this week y'all! We'll be going through a lot more of the measurements in this chapter this upcoming week. No homework this week. The students had to list them, their county seats
Hey all! We've officially had 4 weeks of school! How incredible is that?! I don't know about you but it has gone by in a blur. It's been wild and fun though! When people first started asking me how I liked teaching after the first week or two, I would say, "I think I love it." Now I feel like I can say, "I love it." But you students are definitely what makes it fun and worthwhile. So thank you! Pre-Algebra: This coming week we'll be reviewing the percentages of profits. I know it's been your favorite lessons to do. 😂 I do believe we will have the girls (Madison, Angel, and Bryson) to teach/help direct the class on Monday. Hopefully we will all be on the same page by Tuesday so we can move into the next chapter that deals with measurement. There will be probably be a quiz or test during the week along with the occasional speed test. No homework for the weekend. Enjoy! WV History: We have read through chapter 3 this week and will review

Finally...

Hello students and parents! Here's the long awaited blog. I will give assignments in class but this will just be the reminder tool in case you forget what's been assigned, etc. As of right now, I have nothing specific to post for individual classes. There are several classes that I teach so I will list each one and give specifics about what is due or coming up, if anything. This is going to be a great year and it has already started off in an incredible way. I'm looking forward to all that's ahead! Miss Thies Miss T "Mommy Thighs"
