National High Five Day

Hello everyone!

 We made it to break! I truly hope you all have a fantastic 10 days off! Whether you'll be traveling, hanging out at home, playing Fortnite, etc... may it be great for you! 

 ANNOUNCEMENT:
We will be having a Talent Show on May 9th. It will be in the afternoon after the secondary lunch when all the achievement testing will finally be over. There will be more details to come once we arrive back to school but you may want to be thinking about what you could do to participate. There will be prizes for the different age categories. (Pre-K - 2nd)(3rd-6th)(7th-12th)
Some examples of categories are: 
Performing: Singing, dancing, drama/skit, recitation 
Non-performing: Art, poetry 

 You can also think outside the box... maybe gymnastics or a cool talent like yodeling or solving a Rubik's cube quickly. 
You all have the capability to do amazing things! We look forward to seeing how you showcase them. 😀

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Any parents that would like a parent/teacher conference, please let the secondary teachers know when you would like to schedule.



Science 9/10:No HW during break but we will be taking Test 10 in class when we get back so you may want to look over terms on Quizlet. It will be open book, but no Quizlet notes in class, and you may work in partners or alone. Also, remember that if you see an experiment that we can do or try in class when we have some spare time after the chapters are completed, let me know!

Pre-Algebra:No HW but when we get back, be ready to tackle a bunch of review in preparation for the achievement tests which will be the following week. Look forward to seeing you after break!

WV History:No HW during break. ANNOUNCEMENT: We have a field trip planned for our WV History class. It will be May 3rd. We will leave shortly after arriving to school in the AM. Due to where we are going, we will be arriving back to the school after school has let out. I will have to keep you informed about what the estimated return time will be. The Monday we return from break, I will hand out permission forms and give out finalized details.
We will be going to the Exhibition Coal Mine in Beckley and also to Bluestone Dam and Sandstone Falls.
I will need a couple chaperones for the trip so those interested, please contact me. Not only do we need chaperones but if we have 15+ people, we will get a group rate for the coal tour.

 Science 7/8:
No HW. Enjoy break! See you when we get back! 

 Health 11/12:
Eat well, get some sunshine, and exercise. 😂

Have an amazing time off and we'll see you back for our final 19 days of school on the 29th!

25% Of The Way There

Grade cards came back this week for the first 9 weeks which means we are 25 % done with the school year. Incredible!  You all make my job a lot of fun!  There have been some changes to the schedule so we are going to run with it to see how it rolls. Please be patient and do your best to be where you're supposed to be. The schedule is on the door of the science lab (room 5.) 😀 Science 9/10: This is a new thing for me y'all. 2-22!

Hey  February is nearly done! It's been a long short month. For some reason it always tends to be like that. I can't wait for some sunshine. Fat Eddies opened today, Friday the 22nd, so spring and summer are on the horizon! 😁 Science 9/10:   No homework this weekend. 😁 I think that the lab today was pretty fun in figuring out speed. Pre-Algebra: Homework is pg. 210 question #4. You are making a rectangle graph. Please be sure to use a ruler and give specific lengths for showing the size of each portion. Also, be sure to label the graph. A graph tells information, you cannot just draw a box and put numbers in. You have to display information so that someone could ask you a question and you would be able to answer it according to the listed info. WV History: Congrats! Y'all did the Golden Horseshoe! Week 8

Hey! I hope you all have had a great 8th week! This is gonna be a quick post. Sorry it's late! Pre-Algebra Monday we'll be testing on chapter 1 & 2. We have gone over review in class today so hopefully y'all were paying attention. Be sure to bring a calculator as I will allow you to use it on the basic math stuff. WV History I was going to have a Quizlet study guide made up for chapter 5 because we will test on it Monday but I think we will just keep it open book so that should help you a bunch. Thursday we will take our next county quiz. For those of you who want to retake the last 5, you are able to redo it but you will have to do the next five as well (ten altogether). Angel made up a quizlet study guide for the 5 county bunches that you may want to use to help you study which county goes with which county seat.
